Seminar on Digital Transformation in Ship Management, During BARI-SHIP

On May 25, POS SM and Korea Ship Managers’ Association(KOSMA) held a technical seminar on ‘Digital Transformation in Ship Management’ during BARI-SHIP* in Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture, Japan.

In this seminar with about 20 people from ship-owners and shipping industry workers in Japan, POS SM presented the status of preparations for the mid to long-term Smart Ship era, such as ship big data collection, intellectualized solutions, and integrated ship control center. Based on this, advanced ship management services to be provided to ship-owners and the direction of the ship management industry should take in the future, facing of the big changes of the 4th industrial revolution and digital transformation.

After the presentation, various questions and discussions were held among seminar participants(Ship-owners and DX managers of ship management and classification companies) including the build of a data collection system and the use of CCTV on the vessels, showing keen interest in digital transformation in the shipping and ship management industry.
